A mix-and-match garment inspired by my grandfather’s hometown, the algae bloom beaches. Likely from the growing climate change and agricultural run-off pollution, the overflow of algae is harmful to marine ecosystems. The entire landscape is slime green yet beachgoers are playfully optimistic, playing with algae as if it were normal sand.
I am also inspired by the unique characteristics of Qingdao Facekinis that act as UV-protected masks with bright colors and bold patterns. This collection is inspired by beachgoers who encapsulate the silliness of human nature even in the face of increasing climate disasters.
